Data Sources

This project generates predictive weather visualisations through the use of publicly available meteorological and geospatial datasets, backed up with credible peer reviewed studies. This data subsequently is mapped against UK CNI assets in operation by Scottish and Southern Electricity (SSE) whose locations were gathered through published internet sources.

AtmosWatch was developed using a range of open‑source technologies, including:

• Leaflet.js for interactive mapping
• Node.js and Express for backend services
• PostgreSQL + PostGIS for spatial data processing
• noUiSlider for UI controls
